Throttle and related ETM issues - Electronic Throttle Module (ETM, also known as "drive by wire" systems) have thus far proven unreliable and prone to premature failures and unpredictable performance.
ETM problems can cause a variety of driving problems, ranging from stalling, hard starting, sudden lurching or "surging", that is, cycling between a higher and lower RPM, while at idle, in park, or in gear. When the car has the air conditioner running, the surging may become more pronounced.
